Guitarist Yamirah Gercke leads the project and specializes in cinematic jazz-pop compositions. She graduated from the Berklee College of Music in her hometown of Boston and went on to release her own records, Neighbors and Pressure (honored by the Indie Visions Film Festival). Her extensive experience stems from her close collaboration with her late father Lenjes Robinsonin the band project Bad Ass Freaks, as well as from numerous other collaborations. With her own label, Fat Banshee Records, she is pioneering within the indie scene and is dedicated to supporting emerging talent.
Drummer Ria Rother studied in Leipzig and Porto under mentors such as Holger Nell, Heinrich Köbberling, Werner Neumann, Michael Lauren, and Richie Beirach. In Berlin’s jazz scene, Ria is a sought-after member of ensembles of all sizes — equally at home in a big band or a free-form duo. Within Yamirah’s Solar Explorers, Ria´s versatile playing forms the foundation for smooth and flowing grooves.
